Great app, accurate in every respect. Thanks
Great app, accurate in every respect. Thanks
Love using this app to demonstrate how loud 80dB is for teaching my hearing screener certification class. People can relate when they have real examples.
Well done.
I use it all the time to measure noise levels.
Never tested accuracy of its reading with real meter. But if used in consistent manner its reading will provide comparative data.
Very useful, and is accurate. I would recommend this especially for anyone running live sound.
Simple and accurate. I recommend spending the $1.99 to get the pro version to rid yourself of those annoying ads!
Other than the 4 updates in 4 days that Ive gotten - its a fairly accurate decibel monitor
Dec 10th is good. I hear that other paid apps are more accurate, but I dont know that and find D 10th seeming to be on target, and I am a professional. It would be good to know how it is set and how accurate it is. Otherwise my only suggestion would be that the written labels at top freeze a couple seconds on the most dominant volume (like a peak meter): "conversation," "inside auto," etc. Really like the app otherwise. As you upgrade, dont toss out the main features you have now (readout, bottom left and right, analog, scroll, all are good).
I withdraw my previous review. Updated to 5.1.1 then I hard reset my iPhone and am satisfied now that meter readings are accurate, particularly for dBA. You may want to do this too to ensure hardware, iOS and app versions are all in synch. My confidence is restored. Kudos! This was one of my bread and butter apps worthy of 5 stars (imho). Now, this version seems to be off significantly in its measurements of SPL. My estimate is the deviation ranges from 20-50dB LOWER than measurements taken prior to this release. I love the new UI/GUI, especially the ability to set a dBA filter/freq bias. But the enhanced functionality is useless if the readings are not accurate. Accuracy was a hallmark of this app and others from this developer. Fact is this app was recommended by someone professionally engaged in hearing deficit prevention. Because the readings are so low, the 10th Decibel app is putting the hearing health of users at risk, the opposite of what it was designed to do. I dont mean to suggest the app developer wants to harm anyones hearing or produce a product that displays misleading measurements. I just hope we see a new release (5.1) soon that will properly calibrate the mics on all iPhones running iOS 10.1.1. Lets hope...
Accurate, simple with good graphics.
Does what its meant to do.
Love this app, using it to get my company to reduce the "white noise" in our building which is set between 60-65 decibels. Thank you for making this app!
I use this app to measure the sound level in my living room when listening to music. Although it doesnt discriminate Amon bass, midrange or highrange waves, Im happy with it.
I happened upon this App while searching for ye ole Radio Shack SPL meter. The Radio Shack meter worked surprisingly well with extreme accuracy for its low price point. Weighted Option and extras come in handy for recording or calibrating audio equipment. For a quick and easy download, I have to say, this tool comes in handy. Although it doesnt have the options nor the accuracy of the Rat Shack meter, what else can you ask for with something that is free? At least I can get volume level in the "Ball Park" or close enough, until it sounds good by ear.
This is a great app. Im around live music a lot and want to be safe. Very easy to use and works as described.
This is perfect for me in dealing with my tinnitus in louder situations. I can easily monitor the db level at concerts or clubs so I know how long I can go before needing a break. This along with my ear plugs is a wonderful combo!
Trying to plan for a paging system in a new warehouse. This is a great tool to walk around with and gather readings
I wanted to measure the sound at Bryant Denny during the big Bama games.
Very accurate and handy.
